ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Michele-lee Phelan, at age 40, has been painting professionally for five years even though many told her a career in art was an unattainable dream. Yet, Michele-lee believes that some dreams are more than just dreams -- they are destiny, and it was her destiny to become an illustrator of both mythology and fantasy.

The last decade has been spent developing her bold, unique, and colourful style. Michele-lee loves to paint dragons, faeries, goddesses, gods, heroes and heroines. Her paintings are created using a blend of quality artist's acrylics and coloured pencils upon heavy 100% cotton watercolour paper.

Michele-lee is currently signed as an illustrator and author to Australian publisher, Blue Angel Galleries, owned and operated by fellow Australian artist, Toni Carmine Salerno. Over the last year she has painted a series of 45 artworks based upon Greek mythology for the oracle deck 'Mythic Oracle of the Ancient Greek Pantheon' by Carisa Mellado, and now she is working to put the final touches upon her first book 'Dreams of Magick' as well as working on her first non-tradtional tarot deck the ‘Dreams of Gaia Tarot'. Both will be published by Blue Angel in 2009/10.

Other artworks by Michele-lee have been included in the new ‘Oracle of the Dragonfae’ by Lucy Cavendish, and have graced the covers of the four book series ‘Ancient Mirrors Tales’ by American fantasy author, Jayel Gibson. Her original artworks have become part of private collections in Australia, Europe, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
